Last October, the 9th, the Optic Institute in Saint-Etienne marked this day with a partnership with Alliance LED
So as to celebrate this centenary, called on Eric Michel, lamp creator, to organize the three buildings (Bordeaux, Paris-Saclay, Saint-Etienne).
Founded in 1917, the Optic Institute is the oldest building for higher education and optic and photonic research in the world.
Thanks to its pioneer state of mind, inventive and creative, the Optic Institute has known an important development: from the one-year certificate of a few students during the first years, to the promotion of 150 student-engineers in 3 locations today (Bordeaux, Paris-Saclay, Saint-Etienne). Faithful to its goal established by the 1920 law, it supports the French photonic industry by harmoniously combining the formation of scientific engineers, doctoral formation, innovative-entrepreneurship and research at the highest level with its three laboratories (Charles Fabry Laboratory, Numeric Photonic and Nano sciences Laboratory (LP2N), Hubert Curien Laboratory).
Progressive lenses, zooms, broadband fiber optics communication, non-contact measuring in the industrial or medical area, engineers from SupOptique bring major contributions to light science and technology.
